Lunar Lessons

The spotlight of this starlight sky, all these nights I wait patiently for you to come by.

Oh dear moon ! What makes you so charming?
Even with all those spots and patches, you look so admiring!
The way in which you wax and wane,
Enlightens me to rise up from pain.

Your fickleness reminds me of life’s changing nature,
Fact that nothing is eternal is life’s most amazing feature.
You keep on revolving around the earth tirelessly,
Much alike the way we stressed out humans revolve around our materialistic goals constantly.

The way in which you change colours from milky white to blue pink and red
We humans too change colours according to the situations we are in.
Even without any light of your own,
You dispel darkness and continue to shine on.

And so does the moonlight,
Inspires me to cheer up and strive.
You hung up yourself patiently in the night sky ,
Warming up the hearts of those who timidly cry .
Oh dear moon! You are a celestial wonder,
What makes you so mystic is a question to ponder.

I wish you sweet dreams at bedtime,
Thank you for holding my stories just right.
So even though you are away during daytime,
I always hope to see you at twilight !
